Bills affecting Person with a disability in Pennsylvania — 2026 session

Further providing for the title of the act, for findings and declaration of policy, for right to freedom from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation, for definitions, for unlawful discriminatory practices and for prohibition of certain real estate practices; providing for protection of religious exercise; and further providing for powers and duties of the commission and for construction and exclusiveness of remedy.

Providing for complex wheelchair quality assurance; and imposing duties on the Department of Human Services and the Insurance Department.

In public assistance, providing for intellectual disability and autism fee schedule rates.

Providing for Commonwealth support for a Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Staff Member Loan Forgiveness Program and an Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor Loan Forgiveness Program; and imposing duties on the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.

Further providing for incapacity of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor.

In pupils and attendance, further providing for extended special education enrollment due to COVID-19.

In powers and duties of the Department of Public Welfare and its departmental administrative and advisory boards and commissions, providing for managed care organization assessment, for intermediate care facilities for persons with an intellectual disability assessments, for hospital assessments, for Statewide quality care assessments and for nursing facility assessment; in powers and duties of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, further providing for powers and duties; in judicial administration, further providing for surcharge and fee; and making repeals .

Providing for accommodation for breastfeeding in Commonwealth-owned buildings; and imposing duties on the Department of General Services.

Making editorial changes to delete references to "approved private school" for the purpose of adding references to "approved special education school."
